Specialties and Services to Children and Familes

Our services include independent consultation, screening, evaluation and treatment for toddlers, children, and adolescents. We provide services at various community facilities, schools, daycare centers, in-home, as well as virtually.

Therapy must adapt and grow as your child’s needs change overtime, and so hybrid models

of the above therapy options are welcomed and encouraged.

Services
Parent Coaching

We help caregivers learn and practice the techniques that we use within our sessions. This allows families to confidently support their child’s speech and language development at home, in between therapy sessions. Parent coaching focuses on:

  • Building language through play

  • Using communication strategies in daily routines

We provide parents with resources for home practice, as well as access to their child’s online progress notes and reports.

Speech Therapy

We help children effectively communicate by addressing speech sound production for challenging articulation or phonological intelligibility. We will target common words that apply to their everyday life.

Our evidence-based approaches improve:

  • Overall speech clarity

  • Accuracy of sound production

  • Muscle coordination and strength for speech

  • Rate and rhythm of speech

  • Fluency (stuttering)

Speech therapy incorporates fun, child-led activities to keep their interest and engagement.

Language Therapy

We help children develop and practice language skills in a variety of play-based and focused activities. Sessions build essential skills such as:

  • Answering questions

  • Following directions

  • Telling stories

  • Combining words into complete sentences

  • Increasing vocabulary

  • Overall ability to express wants and needs

Language therapy can improve a child’s comprehension, expression, and overall ability to learn.

Teletherapy

Online speech-language therapy has been shown to be as effective as in-person therapy, but with more flexibility and convenience. By meeting online, parents can forgo the commute to therapy and enjoy more valuable time at home with their families. Teletherapy is now available to all families in the states of Georgia, Ohio & Washington.

Specialties

Early Intervention

We specialize in building language through play! Skilled speech-language therapy can help infants and toddlers engage with the world around them by understanding and using:

  • Gestures and sign language

  • Play sounds

  • Visuals

  • New words

Children need consistency and repetition to learn new skills, so parental involvement is key to great progress.

Language Disorders

Communication is about giving and receiving. If you have an expressive disorder, it means you have difficulty

with being able to express ideas – through speech, writing, and AAC. And if you have a receptive disorder, you have difficulty understanding others’ expressions – through listening, reading, etc. These include aphasia, language delays, and social pragmatic language disorders. Speech and language therapy can help.

A child will often have both disorders at the same time. Such disorders are often diagnosed in children between the ages of 3 and 6.

Autism Spectrum Disorders

The word “spectrum” in Autism Spectrum Disorder comes from the wide range of different ways it can affect someone, in both symptoms and severity. If your child has Autism Spectrum Disorder, they may have no speech or language issues at all, be completely nonverbal, or somewhere in between. Regardless of how Autism Spectrum Disorder affects your child’s communication, speech and language therapy can help.

Speech Sound Disorders

If you or your child has difficulty creating certain sounds, it may be a result of a speech disorder. Speech intelligibility can affect both children and adults of any age. Speech and language therapy can help.
